In spite of our efforts, there are times when styling becomes important. We all live in a world where appearances are pertinent. So, what to do to care for hair in spite of the abuse we put it through?
We use different kinds of styling tools, we use styling products, we use chemicals, heat and what not to style our hair. All this takes a toll. There are times when we are left with dry or even damaged hair as a result. Here are few tips to keep the damage to a minimum.
Ceramic Tools
Style your hair often? Consider using a ceramic tool for it – they’re more even and can be pulled through your hair without snags. It is smooth and not only is your finish better, it also easier on your hair compared to other tools. Who doesn’t love shiny and healthy hair, right?
Cover Grays
Don’t have time or did you touch up stick or powder or wand run out? Don’t worry! Have your eye shadow palette? Just choose the closest color to your locks and use it instead! If you use an angled eyeliner brush the finish looks natural.
Tried Velcro Rollers?
Have you tried using Velcro Rollers? Just air dry after using the Velcro rollers if you don’t want to blow dry – the result is equally good. Try it! SO, shampoo, condition, use the Velcro roller and let your hair air-dry! Bouncy curls when you’re done 😉
Splash Cold Water
Conditioned your hair? It is time to rinse out, right? Now, rinse out with cold water – as cold as you can withstand. Wondering why? Cold water can you’re your cuticles. What better way than to seal cuticles to retain moisture? Alternatively, rinse out with a liter of water with a spoon of Vinegar added for the same result.
Olive Oil
Dry Hair? Too much styling can damage hair and leave it dry and lifeless. If hair isn’t damaged and just dry, you can nurture it back to health. A deep conditioning and nourishing Olive Oil massage is just what’s needed. Do it twice a week for best results. It gets rid of frizz, adds shine and life to your hair.
Herbal Rinses
Want to brighten blond locks? Use Chamomile Tea Rinse – it is easy and spruces blond hair back to life. You can choose other herbs according to your hair color – henna for dark hair, hibiscus flowers for red hair, etc.
Want to add volume?
If your hair looks thin, go for a short haircut with shorter ends at the back. This makes your hair look fuller and dense. If you are not for short hair, go for layered cuts to add volume.
