When you have thin hair, it is possible to feel uncomfortable. You can’t do your favorite hairstyles, you can’t wear your favorite clips or bands – you can only use ones meant for thin hair and hair can look dull and lifeless. How can you fix this?

Oil Massage
Ayurveda firmly believes in oiling your hair and scalp. With fine hair, it is even more important. You don’t want to lose more hair to hair fall, do you? A weekly oil massage helps with improving your hair health. If you want to improve hair thickness, Castor oil is a good bet. Coconut oil also promotes healthy hair, but isn’t thick like castor oil. Ideally, you could use a combination of castor and coconut oil for massage. Leave it on for 30 minutes – an hour, before washing off.
Herbal Hair Wash
Also, women don’t usually use a shampoo to wash their hair. A paste is prepared using herbs and other ingredients and used for washing hair. No, you don’t have to go “no-poo” for this! This herbal paste bubbles up like any shampoo! The paste includes soap nuts, henna, lemon peel, hibiscus, etc.
Fenugreek for Conditioning
Also, a paste with fenugreek is prepared and applied for lustrous and shiny hair. Basically, they soak fenugreek seeds for 1 – 3 hours and then grind it into a fine paste. Washing this off is a task, but the efforts are worth it. If you have fine hair, it is a great addition as it improves hair volume and gives it a shiny look.
After Wash Care / Oiling
The most important part post shower is using hair oil after air-drying your hair. Herb-infused oil with herbs and spices that promotes hair growth and healthier hair is advised. However, career women would not want to weigh down your hair with oils. In that case, you could use herb-infused oil before shower and follow with lighter oil like Argan oil after your hair is dry.
The method of applying oil is also given a lot of importance. You can use hot oil, or skip the heating process. Take required oil in your left palm and dip your fingers of the right hand and massage the oil into the scalp. Use circular motions and the make sure every part of your scalp is covered. Remaining oil, apply to hair strands and hair tips. Before shower, massage your scalp and apply oil liberally. Massaging will help improve circulation and promotes hair growth. Post shower, you can gently massage the oil to your scalp.
Once hair is dry, they braid and don’t leave hair loose when not needed. Braiding hair reduces the possibility of tangles, frizz and also improves hair growth.
