Basic Tips When Using Scrubs
Depending on your sensitivity choose your ingredients.
Don’t go for ingredients that are very abrasive.
When using salts – slightly crush them especially when the crystals are larger.
When using sugars – make sure the granules are smaller if you’re using processed sugars.
It’s a good idea to leave the scrub on for a minute or two and rinse off, if you are sensitive, or feel dry after scrubbing.
Don’t forget to condition and moisturize after using a scrub.
How to Use the Scrubs?
Brush your hair to loosen up the debris and deadskin cells. Just a few strokes, or buff away with a brush.
Now, wash your hair using your hair shampoo or cleanser.
After washing thoroughly, apply the scrub to your scalp.
Wait for 5 – 7 minutes.
Wash off. Make sure to wash thoroughly so there’s no residue left over. It’s a good idea to bring your hair in front and wash from behind. If you have a hand shower, use it. It is easy to wash thoroughly using a hand shower.
Follow-up with a conditioner or conditioning rinse.
Air dry and style as usual.
Applying hair oil right after drying your hair is best – the same day, before heading out of exerting much so the oil is applied before the pores are closed up due to dirt or sweat.
All the recipes listed here are easy and need 2 – 3 ingredients at most. The ingredients are readily available and you can swap the ingredients for similar ingredients, if you don’t have any.
Choose the ingredients based on their availability and suitability. If some ingredients are not good for you, skip and substitute with other ingredients.
Don’t scrub too hard – gently work the scrub through your scalp and massage for a few seconds (gently again) before washing off.
