Who doesn’t love silky and soft locks? A nourishing leave-in conditioner is just what you need if you love lustrous hair!
We all love our locks and it isn’t a secret that men love their hair too. Balding is one thing many men dread, just like we dread hair thinning and hair fall.
We’re going to prepare an easy leave-in for shiny and soft locks. Ready, everyone?
Ingredients
Shea Butter – 60 Grams
Lavender Hydrosol – 10 Ml
Rosemary Hydrosol – 20 Ml
Glyceryl Stearate – 1 Tsp.
Instructions
Melt Shea Butter in your double boiler.
When butter is fully melted add the emulsifier.
Make a makeshift double boiler and warm up the hydrosols.
When they’re both hot remove from heat.
Slowly introduce the hydrosol mixture into the melted butter and whisk the mixture.
Keep whisking as you slowly add the hydrosol mixture.
When the mixture is whisked well and turn to room temperature, you can stop whisking.
Done!
Transfer to a sterilized container and use as needed.
How to Use the Conditioner?
Apply this conditioner while your hair is still damp and not fully dry, though you can wait till it is dry if you prefer. This is best when applied to clean hair though you can apply as needed between showers.
Take a small dollop of the conditioner and wet your fingers with it. Apply the conditioner to the strands by running them through your strands.
Don’t apply too much as it can make your hair limp. With this conditioner and any conditioner that’s oil or butter based, less is more.
Style as usual.
Shelf Life
Since you use hydrosol prepare smaller batches to keep it fresh and good. You can also refrigerate the conditioner if you prefer.
Why These Ingredients?
All these natural ingredients are good for your hair and leave your hair soft, silky and shiny.
It is also nourishing and keeps your hair lustrous.
You can also apply it to your scalp especially if you have dry scalp or need to top up your sebum levels between showers.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use any skin butter for this recipe. I have used Shea Butter, as it is light and suitable for all hair and scalp types.
You can also add a little oil to this recipe to make it lighter.
You can use any hydrosol in this recipe including rose hydrosol. Rose tends to make hair softer and shinier.
Not just floral hydrosols you can use any hydrosol on this recipe or use essential oils for aroma, if the hydrosols don’t give enough aroma to the recipe.
You can also refrigerate the mixture and whip it further till it is fluffy for a whipped conditioner.
