Ingredients
Egg Yolk – 1
Honey – ½ Tbsp.
Argan Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Lavender Essential Oil – 2 – 3 Drops
Milk – As need for soaking (about ¼ cup)
Method
In a mixing bowl, beat the egg yolk well.
Now, add in honey, milk and ½ Tbsp. Argan Oil.
Mix and finally add the Lavender Essential Oil to it. Voila! You’re nourishing Argan Nail Soak is ready!
Usage
Soak your nails in the mixture for about fifteen minutes and wash off.
Wipe your nails and let it air dry for a few seconds.
Apply the remaining Argan Oil to your nails, nail beds and cuticles.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use any essential oil of your choice like Rose or Geranium, or even Lemon. The essential oil is more of a fragrance choice here, so any fragrance that you love is ideal.
What’s with the Ingredients?
Egg yolk
Of course, not many of like the smell of egg yolks! Many resist egg yolks as they can’t tolerate the smell. But, it is a nutritious food. Rich in protein, egg yolks are a great way to strengthen your brittle or weak nails.
Honey
Honey is not only a great addition to your platter, it is also a beauty aid. Honey hydrates the nails and cuticles, leaving them soft and moisturized.
Argan Oil
Very rich and nutritious oil, Argan oil is rich in sterols, Vitamin E and moisturizing agents. Moisturizing is the key to keeping brittle or peeling nails at bay. Vitamin E leaves your nail stronger and smoother.
Milk
Rich in calcium and moisturizing agents, it makes your nails stronger and also moisturizes them.
Don’t prefer Egg Yolks? No Worries, try this Argan Oil Soak instead, for stronger nails.
Ingredients
Argan Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Beer – 50 – 100 ml
Olive Oil – 50 ml
ACV – 50 ml
Method
In a bowl, slightly warm olive oil in low heat.
Once warm, remove from flame.
Now, add ACV and Olive Oil to it.
Finally, add ½ Tbsp Argan Oil. That’s it!
Usage
Ready for a nail strengthening soak? Just dip your nails into the mixture for about 15 minutes and wash off. Wipe and follow up by applying the remaining Argan Oil to your nails, nail bed and cuticles.
Tweaking the Recipe
You can add Argan Oil, or use our Argan Body Oil in this recipe. For the alternative nail soak recipe, you can add essential oils, though it is not needed. Since egg yolk can be smelly, we added essential oils for fragrance. That problem is also eliminated when using this recipe.
