There are many different ways to prepare Hair Oil, but this one is quite different but very easy to prepare.
The best part about this hair oil is that it combats dandruff, hair loss, promotes hair growth and improves hair and scalp health. Let’s take a look at the ingredients first.
Ingredients
Sesame Oil – 250 Ml
Hibiscus Flowers – 7
Hibiscus Leaves – 16
Phyllanthus Niruri Leaves – a handful
False Daisy – a handful
Instructions
If you are using fresh herbs and leaves, wash them and let it air dry. You can dry it in the shade, or inside your home – just spread it on a towel and place it under the fan. This is just to remove the excess water from the herbs.
You can also use dried herbs if you don’t get fresh herbs and leaves.
Once the herbs are dry, grind them to a fine paste and set aside.
Heat the Sesame Oil and when it is hot, add the ground paste to it. If you are using dry herbs, soak them for a few minutes and grind them to a paste and do the same.
Now simmer and let it sit till the moisture fully evaporates – bubbling and hissing will stop when moisture fully evaporates.
Now, let it cool down and cover it.
After a night, filter using a muslin cloth and squeeze any remaining oil from the cloth and transfer to a sterilized jar.
Shelf Life
This oil lasts for 6 months, or more. Make sure the jar is sterilized and you use a spatula or dry hands when removing oil form the jar.
How to Use the Oil?
Dip your fingertips in the oil and apply to your scalp gently. Part your hair and make sure to cover every nook and corner of your scalp.
Massage for a few minute and wait for half an hour before you wash your hair.
You can substitute this with your hair oil, if you are using one already. You can use it as a pre-wash treatment or after washing your hair.
