We all know Tea is a really good ingredient for getting strong and healthy hair, or even for caring for your hair.
Since I did not want to go the longer route to get tea incorporated in my hair care routine, I decided to use Matcha Tea Powder instead in my hair cream. So want to know how it’s done?
I loved the results I got with Green Tea Hair Cream I prepared, but I used Green Tea decoction in that and that made for lesser shelf life. So I decided to swap it for the better Matcha Tea and use it’s powder form to work around the shelf life problem.
Green tea is not just good for your hair or skin, but also for your health when consumed. When consuming internally one should make sure it suits their body, and if it does, then it’s good.
Ingredients
Shea Butter – 1 Tbsp.
Argan Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Matcha Powder – 3 Tbsp.
Vitamin E Oil – 1 Tsp.
Jojoba Oil – 10 Tbsps.
Myrrh Essential Oil – 16 drops
Instructions
Melt the Shea Butter in your double boiler.
Once melted remove from heat.
Add Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Myrrh Essential Oil.
Stir to combine.
Now, add the Matcha Powder to the mixture and mix well.
Refrigerate the mixture – the mixture should be slightly firm but give way if you press down with your fingers. At this stage remove from the refrigerator and whip it.
Whip it on medium-high till the mixture is nice and fluffy.
Store in a sterilized container and use as needed.
Done!
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use your choice of carrier oils based on their availability or your preference.
Shea Butter is optional and used for getting a nice creamy texture though you can skip it.
You can use any essential oil in this recipe.
How to Use the Cream?
Take a small dollop of the hair cream and apply on your hair. Rub the cream between your hands to warm up a little and then apply it lightly on the strands. Style as usual.
If you want this use this as pre-shower treatment: Apply it on your scalp and hair generously and wrap it with a shower cap or cap. Leave it overnight and shower next morning.
Why These Ingredients?
Rich in antioxidants Green Tea is a great way to nurture your dry and damaged hair back to luster and shine. It also promotes hair growth and the polyphenol catechins block DHT that cause hair loss.
The other ingredients (carrier oils, butters, essential oils, etc.) add to this recipe and bring their own benefits to the recipe. Together they make your hair strong, healthy and promotes better hair growth.
