DIY Masks for Colored Hair

We all know hair endures a lot during styling and coloring. Most treatments leave your hair dry and stripped off natural nutrients and oils. These hair masks are meant to nourish your hair, enrich it with antioxidants and nutrients and bring back the sheen. Want to know more about them?

Cucumber Mask

In a mixing bowl, add a spoon of Honey, 2 Yolks of Egg, 1 Tbsp. of Olive Oil and juice from one lemon. Also, grate a cucumber and squeeze out the juice from it and add it to the mixing bowl along with the other ingredients. Mix well and apply as a mask. Cover your head with a shower cap and let it sit for half hour. Wash off with lukewarm water and the shampoo and shower as usual. You can do this up to three times a week.

Avocado Mask

We all know Avocado is one of the best ways to soothe dry and damaged hair. Mash ½ each of Banana and Avocado in a mixing bowl. You can also use your blender to get a fine and smooth paste. To this, add a tablespoon each of Olive Oil and Yogurt. Mix well and apply to your hair. Cover it with a shower cap and rinse off with lukewarm water and shampoo as usual. You can increase the quantity based on your hair length – this suits shoulder length hair.

Mashed Banana

Melon Mask

Do you know you can revitalize and give it some tender loving care with a few choice ingredients? Here’s a melon mask that will do just that. In your blender, add ¼ Cup of Canary Melon, an Avocado, 2 Tbsp. of Coconut Oil and 2 Tbsp. of Yogurt and whip them to a smooth mixture. Now, apply this as a mask and let it sit for half hour before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Shower as usual.

Banana Mask

Deeply nourishing, this banana mask can strengthen and hydrate your hair. All you need is a banana and a spoon of Sweet Almond Oil. Mash the banana and add the oil to it, mix well and apply it as a pack. You can increase the quantity according to your hair length. Let the pack sit for 30 minutes before you rinse off with lukewarm water. Shower as usual.

Egg Mask

Nothing beats eggs when it comes to strengthening and nourishing hair. For this mask, we need a spoon of Castor Oil, a few drops of Vitamin E Oil and a yolk. Mix them all together in a mixing bowl and apply as a mask. Let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and shower as usual. You can increase the quantity of the recipe, as needed for your hair length.

Mayonnaise Mask

In a mixing bowl, add 2 Yolks and beat them well. Once you get a whisked texture, add in 3 Tbsp. of Mayonnaise. Mix well. Mash ½ Avocado and add it the mixture and combine the ingredients well. Apply as a mask and let it sit for 30 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water. Shampoo as usual.
