Ingredients
Argan Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Distilled Water – ½ Cup
Liquid Castile Soap / Grated Castile Soap – ¼ Cup
Essential Oil – a few drops
Method
If you use liquid castile soap, it is as easy as mixing the ingredients in your old shampoo and lathering it on your hair!
If you use grated castile soap, use a Cup distilled water to dissolve it and get the right consistency.
You can use any essential oil(s) of your choice, for added fragrance or other benefits.
Shake well and use as needed.

There are times when you run out of our Argan Shampoo supply or probably you just want a change from your routine. Or, you probably think DIY stuff is great, irrespective of what your reasons are, the recipe is simple and easy.
Besides, it is natural and you know what goes in. After who likes the confusing terms on the bottles of commercial shampoos? It is better to read water, than H2O, though the same, the latter sounds scary and if you don’t know what it is, you probably think it is another chemical!
Why Does it Work?
Argan oil can do wonders for your skin and hair. It can repair dry, lifeless or damaged hair, curbs hair loss and hair thinning, promotes hair growth and curbs scalp problems like dandruff. Do you know Jojoba oil is considered as the best for great hair, but Argan oil overtakes it says research? Argan oil heals and protects hair. Besides, the silicon content in Argan can help tame curly hair.
Good Add-ins
Honey tends to give hair a nice shine, a reason it is a great add-in to this shampoo. A couple of spoons should do the trick!
For those with stubborn dandruff, a tea of white nettle leaf or white nettle extract is a great option.
What Essential Oils can You Use?
If you are only concerned about fragrance, you can pick any essential oil you like. If you don’t have an idea on fragrant oils, essential Oils like Lavender, Jasmine, Rosemary and Sandalwood are ideal. You can check for more essential oil ideas here and here.

Normal Hair
If you have normal hair, Rosemary Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Cedarwood Essential Oil, Geranium Essential Oil, Clary Sage Essential Oil and Thyme Essential Oil should work. You can choose Sweet Almond Oil or Jojoba Oil as carrier oils! You don’t need additional carrier oils for the Shampoo.
Dry Hair
If you hair looks lifeless, dull, damaged or is prone to frizz, you probably have dry hair. Oils that can promote or regulate oil secretion like Lavender Essential Oil, Myrrh Essential Oil, Sandalwood Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil and Geranium Essential Oil are ideal. As carrier oils, you can go with Sesame Oil, Avocado Oil, Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil or Cocoa Butter. You don’t need additional carrier oils for the Shampoo.
Oily Hair
To restore normalcy, those with oily hair should choose oils that will help regulate oil production or curb it. Lavender Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Rosemary Essential Oil, Cypress Essential Oil and Peppermint Essential Oil are ideal. Sesame or Jojoba Oil should work well as carrier oils. You don’t need additional carrier oils for the Shampoo.
