Hair Spa is a luxury not many can indulge or afford. But the question here is, do you really need to go to a spa? Can you replicate the experience without going to one?
When you want to treat yourself what do you do? You think about nice things to do for yourself, depending on what’s your budget, liking, etc. Pampering yourself with a spa day is one-way many women and men resort to. Do you know you can replicate the experience in your home? So, here are few splendid ideas for hair spa at home. Ready, are we?
Hair Spa
Hair spa is often called as hair rebirth therapy, as they nourish and condition hair with ingredients that improve hair’s health, reverse hair damage and leaves you feeling like your hair and scalp can breathe free all over again. It is also opted when women and men want their hair to behave – like for a special occasion.
Is Hair Spa Really Good?
Reading the above definition, you sure think it is good. But not all hair spa is equal and some salons with a cozy setting are now dubbed as spa and the chemical treatments are anything by rejuvenating! So, depending on the treatment, ingredients and experience only we can decide whether it is good or not!
Now, we’re off to recreating the experience.
Olive Oil Spa
All you need is ¼ Cup of Olive Oil. Other things needed are two towel and a bowl of water. Now, massage your scalp with Olive Oil, working your way through your scalp using your fingers. Work through till you reach the tips of the strands and then, steam your hair for a good 10 minutes – you can steam your hair by bringing the bowl of water to a boil, placing the bowl on a stool and then bending over the pot while covering your hair and pot with a towel. Once steam settles in your hair, dip the towel in the hot water. Wrap it around your hair after squeezing out water and let it sit for ¼ hour. I personally prefer the towel method for steaming, like given in the video. Wash off as usual. You can do this twice a week to rejuvenate your hair. This works for dry hair, or hair that lacks moisture and hydration.
Egg Spa
Eggs are a great way to nourish your strands. Here’s how you can use it for a spa experience. In a bowl, beat an egg and while you whisk, add coconut oil slowly about 6 Tsps. When you get a smooth blend of these ingredients, stop whisking. Steam your hair for about 10 minutes as outlined previously and then, apply the mixture to your strands. Wait for about ½ hour before washing off. This is ideal if you have normal hair. You can do this once every week.
Avocado Spa
Take 1 avocado that’s fully ripe along with a spoon of Honey. Mash the avocado and add honey to it and mix well. Now, steam your hair and then, apply the mixture you prepared to your strands. Wait for 10 – 15 minutes before washing off. This is ideal if you have dry hair. You can do this once a week.
Milk & Honey Spa
Take a cup of Milk and a spoon of Honey and mix well. Once dissolved fully, set aside and steam your hair as outlined above. Once done, apply the mixture to your hair and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Wash off after 15 – 20 minutes. You can do this once a week. This is ideal to nourish, moisturize and hydrate normal hair. This can be done once a week.
This is not all. There are more ways to pamper your hair and we’re going to see that in the coming posts. Just remember – wash your hair with lukewarm water before you go about showering to ensure the pack is rinsed off before you start with the washing process. Don’t have time for DIY Recipes?
