How to set your hair after styling it? Do you have to buy the pricey, chemical-laden hair setting sprays? Absolutely, not!
Flyaway hairs are a constant problem, especially if you love leaving your hair down, or open. Sometimes, no matter what you do, your hair just won’t set. Unlike men, we can’t use hair gel, can we? We like our crowning glory free flowing and sprays works best for this.
So, I tried a few recipes to see what works. I am going to share one of the recipe that worked well and will be adding more soon.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe
I have used Rubbing Alcohol in this recipe. If you don’t prefer it, you can skip it and use the other ingredients alone. Alcohol is particularly drying and can affect you if your hair is dry. However, the Glycerin counters it in my experience.
I have used Rose Essential Oil, though you can use any Essential Oil / Aroma Oil you love. I stick with Rose Essential Oil, Lily Essential Oil, Geranium Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, etc. I like their sweet and floral aroma. You can also use any hair friendly essential oil including Spikenard Essential Oil, Frankincense Essential Oil, Clary Sage Essential Oil, Roman Chamomile Essential Oil, etc.
You can substitute half of this Water with Rose Water and skip Essential Oils.
I sometimes add Green Tea or Black Tea and use that Water. This way, I don’t have to add aroma oils and also, it nourishes my hair.
You can also add a few drops of Argan Oil to this recipe. It tames your hair and makes it more manageable, among other benefits.
Why These Ingredients?
These ingredients are natural and don’t damage your hair. Even alcohol can be skipped, and your recipe stills holds good.
This recipe also strengthens your hair in the longer run, when used regularly, unlike commercial hair sprays that damage your hair and cause hair and scalp problems. Gelatin contains protein and nourishes your hair, without weighing it down. It can also offer hold to your hair, so you won’t have to deal with bad hair days.
