Why These Ingredients?
With fine hair, it is very difficult to come up with a recipe that doesn’t weight down hair and also does the job perfectly. I liked the results when I used beer in this recipe – it evaporates after a while and there’s no after smell either! Basically this helps combine the water along with the oils and the other ingredients to an extent.
All the ingredients are easy to get and makes for a perfectly working recipe that’s very flexible, light and effective. I switch up the fragrance ingredients – essential oils and choose them based on my mood, availability and requirements for every batch. I also like to rotate them for variety.
The Gelatin strengthens hair and is a good ingredient to add some volume for those with fine hair.
Honey not only helps with setting but also ensures hair doesn’t turn dry or brittle.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can use Glycerin along with or instead of Honey – I noticed helps with binding the ingredients together.
For those with oily hair and scalp, Witch Hazel is a good choice in place of Glycerin or Beer.
Choose essential oils according to your liking, preference and requirements and switch them up for added fun.
