When hair is frizzy or dry, it is time to pamper it, show some love and restore it back to health. This easy and natural serum does just that and more!

I wanted a simple and easy hair serum that works wonders for hair and scalp, so hair can look lustrous and shiny. We will look at the ingredients first and then how to do the serum.

Ingredients

Castor Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Apricot Oil – 3 Tbsp.
Avocado Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Argan Oil – 1 Tsp.
Clary Sage Essential Oil – 7 Drops
Lavender Essential Oil – 7 Drops

Instructions

Add all the ingredients together in a sterilized, dark amber glass bottle and shake gently.

Set aside for two days before you begin to use.

Done!

Why These Ingredients?

Castor Oil is an emollient and as such, a good addition if you have frizzy, dry or damaged hair. It is one of the best oils not only to nourish and strengthen your hair, but also to help with frizz and dryness.

Apricot Oil is one of the best moisturizers that is also light for dry and frizzy hair. The nutty aroma, coupled with the light and non-greasy texture, it makes using this oil even for those with limp hair a breeze.

Avocado Oil is known for its rich antioxidant content, but more so because it is the closest and natural substitute for silicone. It is said that Avocado Oil is like a natural silicone, without the ill effects of silicone and one that promotes hair health. It is no wonder when we use this for treating dry and frizzy hair – Avocado is a rich moisturizer that also heals damaged hair and restores it former glory.

We’ve already said a lot about Argan Oil and know it really helps with detangling, reducing frizz and dryness amongst other things. It is also a great moisturizer and restores your hair to its former glory.

Clary Sage Essential Oil and Lavender Essential Oil are my favorites when it comes to dealing with problematic, dry or damaged hair. The lovely Lavender aroma is another plus when using it in recipes ☺

How to Use the Serum?

If the bottle you use has a dropper, it is easier to take out a few drops of this serum whenever you want to use it. You can apply this serum to air-dried or damp hair. Remember – little goes a long way, so just use a small dollop and work your way through your locks.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

For those who don’t like Apricot Oil, Argan Oil or Sweet Almond Oil are good alternatives.

We’re adding less Castor Oil, so it doesn’t weigh down your hair but helps with frizz and dryness. However, if it leaves your hair limp, you can reduce Castor Oil in this recipe.

You can use any essential oil of your choice.

I add Aloe Vera infused oil to this recipe, or Hibiscus infused oil to this recipe – both help curb frizz and combat dryness.
