Good Old Curry Leaves
This is a staple in most Asian kitchens and it is east to grab a handful of these leaves any day. However, you also get fresh leaves and dried powder or leaves almost everywhere. If you get this, grab this to prepare an easy but nourishing hair oil.
Curry Leaves are your best friend when you want healthy, strong and long hair. Rich in amino acids and nutrients, they protect your hair from thinning and strengthen your hair follicles. Rich in betacarotene they’re the real deal when you want to grow out your hair.
Just take a handful of these leaves and wash them. Dry them in shade and add them to about 150 Ml of Coconut Oil. Let it simmer till the oil color changes and remove from heat. Filter and store in a glass jar. Massage this oil to your hair and scalp for improving your hair growth and strength.
Camphor
Wondering why I am adding Camphor for hair growth? Camphor is more than just an ingredient that fights dandruff. Do you know it is used to treat an array of skin and scalp problems? It is not only antiseptic, but also antioxidant rich and strengthens hair cuticles, nourishes your hair and scalp and improves your hair volume and shine. Now imagine what it would do when combined with Castor Oil?
Take one part each of Castor Oil, Camphor Oil and Coconut Oil for this blend. Store in a dark glass bottle and use when needed. Apply this to your scalp and massage for a few seconds. You can also warm up the oil before use for better absorption.
Good Old Neem
Many lose our hair due to Dandruff. That’s where Neem really becomes a savior and lets us have long and healthy hair once more. Rich in antioxidants and datty acids, Neem is also anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal making it a multi-tasker and an all-round aid for hair and scalp.
Dry a handful of washed and cleaned Neem Leaves and add it to a cup of Sweet Almond Oil. Simmer this in a heavy bottomed pan till the oil turns green and you’re good to go. Filter and let it cool down. Transfer to a glass bottle and use as needed.
Nigella Seeds
We’ve already shared a recipe using Nigella seeds before. These seeds also called as Black Cumin are known for promoting hair growth and curbing hair thinning. This is a very popular and traditional ingredient used in hair oils. Rich in Zinc, Magnesium, Iron, Vitamins and fatty acids, these seeds make sure you have healthy and strong hair. It is also said to curb split-ends, not just promote better hair growth.
Grind a Tbsp. of Nigella Seeds for a abut 150 Ml of Olive Oil. Add the powder to the oil and let it sit for a day or two before you start using it. Massage the oil to your scalp and use it regularly for best results. You can also warm up the oil before applying.
Indian Gooseberry
Last but not the least, Indian Gooseberry is another key ingredient in hair care. Rich in Vitamin C and nutrients, Indian Gooseberries are your best friends if you want long and stunning black hair.
Take a handful of dried gooseberry bits and add it to a cup of Coconut Oil. Let it sit for a week or two till the oil is infused. Done!
