Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can add Essential Oils to this recipe – Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Cedarwood, Ginger, etc. all go well. You can choose these oils, or your favorite aromas or oils that are good for hair and scalp like Rosemary, Peppermint, etc.
You can also add Dust Tea or coarsely Ground Tea Leaves, coarsely powdered herbs that help with hair scalp issues like Margosa, False Daisy, Indian Nettle, Curry Leaves, etc.
Instead of conditioner using Coconut Milk is better. Not only is it a natural ingredient, it’s also a great hair conditioner and moisturizer.
You can add Rice Water instead of your conditioner. It is a nourishing and moisturizing ingredient for your hair and scalp. You can prepare the Rice Water thicker to make the scrub with a firmer consistency.
You can add a dash of Baking Soda to break down gunk or buildup from your scalp.
You can also add spice powders like Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Kashmir Chili, Pepper, Clove, Ajwain Seeds, etc. They are good for your hair and scalp. Just make sure to add less quantity as they can leave you with burning sensation when overdone.
How to Use the Scalp Scrub?
Prepare enough scrub for your scalp. A good 2 – 4 Tbsp. is usually enough for most. It’s a good idea to prepare this scalp scrub fresh every time.
