Dry hair can be a little problematic not just because it looks lackluster but also because it can become frizzy and difficult to style without damaging it further. However, a simple and easy mask can fix it real quick and make your hair shine again.
We’re going to use a few ingredients that are often available readily. If not, it’s easy to get these ingredients right away and prepare the mask that you need to get your hair shiny and wonderful all over again.
Ingredients
Avocado – 1
Ripe banana – 1
Yogurt – 1 Tbsp.
Honey – 1 Tbsp.
Coconut Milk – 1 Tbsp.
Myrrh Essential Oil – 7 Drops
Argan Oil – few drops
Instructions
Remove the flesh from the Avocado and add it to a mixing bowl.
Slice the Banana and add to the same bowl.
Mash them together till they’re fully mashed – alternatively, you can use your blender if you want a smooth paste.
Add in the Yogurt & Honey to the mashed Avocado and Banana.
Shred the Coconut and squeeze out the milk – you can do this using your blender and sieving ground coconut, or soak the flakes in warm water and squeeze out the milk using a cheesecloth. You need about 2 spoons of Coconut Milk for this mask.
Add the Coconut Milk to the mashed paste along with Argan Oil and whisk to combine the ingredients throughly.
If you are using your blender you can blend all the ingredients together except the oils, or with them. You will get a homogenous and smoother mixture this way. Make sure you don’t heat up the mixture; you only need a few seconds of blending for this. Or stop for a few seconds and go again so the mixture doesn’t get heated up.
Add in the Essential Oil and give a final whisk. All done!
How to Use the Mask?
Apply the Mask on your scalp and hair – make sure you cover from tip to root. Let it sit for 25 minutes before you wash off with a mild shampoo and finish off with ACV rinse.
You can do this at least once a week for best results.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can add a few drops of Vitamin E Oil to this recipe.
If you’re not able to find Avocado – off-season, you can use Avocado Oil and throw in some Yogurt for the mask. Yogurt (unsweetened) is a good food for your hair and combats dryness.
For those who can’t get fresh coconut milk store bought ones do work, though you can swap it with raw organic whole milk instead – that’s better than store-bought stuff.
You can use Rose Water to rinse out your hair or even Rice water for shiny and soft hair.
You can skip the banana if you prefer to just use Avocado though it has its uses. If you get good organic bananas go for them.
