DIY Argan Hair Perfume

Do you want your hair smelling good? Or do you want to spruce up your hair during summer, so your sweat and perspiration doesn’t ruin your day for you? This way or that, a hair perfume is just what you need for these reasons.

You probably haven’t heard of them, while some might have used them. But we all have tried sprucing up hair between showers using our perfumes or floral waters or even added perfume to our shampoos and conditioners. Right?

So, we have used it in one form or the other and sneaked our perfumes for this purpose. But, now, we can have one specially made for hair. Isn’t that wonderful? And yes, hair perfumes are now available commercially!

We saw another recipe using alcohol last time, so this time, we’re going with a recipe that doesn’t use alcohol. Since alcohol can leave your hair dry, especially if you have dry or damaged hair, a recipe that doesn’t use alcohol is ideal.

You have two options in this case – one you can go for an oil-based version, or water-based version. Today, I have chosen oil-based recipe. This way, even if you have dry or damaged hair, you can enjoy the recipe 😉

Ingredients

Argan Oil – 2 Tbsp.
Vetiver Essential Oil – 2 Drops
Cedarwood Essential Oil – 5 Drops
Lavender Essential 2Oil – 3 Drops

Instructions

In a spritzer, add all the ingredients listed above and shake gently.

Set aside for a day or two before using.

Voila!

Tips to Getting the Most from this Recipe

I have used our Argan Body Oil for the recipe because I like the unique light texture it has. It is almost like alcohol and disappears in no time. However, you can use the Argan oil you normally use or even other oils like Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Hazelnut, etc.

I chose Argan Oil because it is light and non-greasy, especially the one we have here. However, even otherwise, Argan Oil is light and non-greasy. So this is ideal if you have thin hair like me and can’t afford to weigh down hair.

However, Jojoba Oil or even Sweet Almond Oil are light and can be used. I would probably use an oil dispenser for those and take the required amount and apply on the hair strands if I use these oils.

You can use any other carrier oils that you like, or have available. Everything works, just make sure to dab lightly if you are using oils that aren’t as light or non-greasy.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

I like to add a few drops of Avocado Oil for the unique luster and shine it gives, besides the moisturizing benefits.

You can add any essential oils you love, as long as you balance the top, base and middle notes – for a balancing and harmonious aroma. I like adding 50% middle note, 20% base note and 30% top note.
