Tweaking the Recipe to Suit Your Skin Type
This recipe suits normal skin, but you can tweak it to suit your skin. For example, if you have dry skin, you can increase Argan oil and reduce Jojoba oil for additional moisture. On the other hand, if you have oily skin, increase Jojoba oil and reduce Rosehip oil. If you try a few times, you should be able to tweak the recipe to make it suitable for your skin type.
Argan Oil
We have written a lot about Argan oil here and you’ve been following our posts to know about this liquid gold from Morocco. There’s nothing that can beat organic Morrocon Argan Oil. Do you know what this miracle oil can do for your skin? Sterolins in this oil, boost skin metabolism, enhances the lipid bi-layer to seal moisture and also, has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe your skin. The lethal but unique combination of two scarce plant sterols that aren’t available in any other plant oil make it excellent for healing scars and reducing dark spots. With all these benefits, what’s not to like about the nutty aroma?
Jojoba Oil
Jobjoba Oil resembles skin sebum and is readily absorbed when applied on our skin. For this reason, it is a constant in many cosmetic products. It is beneficial for both hair and skin, though for skin, it helps nurture and rejuvenates the bi-lipid layer that protects our skin. It is a drying oil and hence, more suitable for those with oily skin and for curbing acne breakouts.
Rosehip Oil
Rosehip oil is also a carrier oil, hence can be used directly on skin without dilution. However, diluting is ideal for skin and to avoid skin irritation. It is rich in antioxidants and suggested by many alternative therapists as a natural solution for skin issues. It is best to get the organic, cold-pressed version for optimum benefits though it can be quite smelly!
However, it can make your skin tone even and bright, soothe your skin and reduce inflammation and redness, deals with psoriasis and rosacea and also, moisturizes your skin. However it has shorter shelf life unlike many other essential oils that remain good for years. It is a good idea to prepare less of the serum, so you can use it before the Rosehip oil goes rancid. About 6 – 9 months are all you have for Rosehip oil after opening the bottle!
Vitamin E Oil
Vitamin E oil is a natural preservative and can extend the shelf life of Rosehip oil, a reason why we’re adding it here. However, we all know Vitamin E is considered as skin Vitamin for its skin-friendly properties and is a great antioxidant. It helps with mild skin rashes, moisturizes your skin and soothes inflammation. It is also said to reduce the scars and dark spots with regular application.
Tea Tree Oil
Who can give this wonderful oil a skip? It can soothe inflammation, acne and also, deal with bacterial infestations being an anti-bacterial agent. Besides, it has a pleasant aroma and can come in handy for those who don’t like the Rosehip oil scent.
Lavender Oil
Lavender oil soothes our nerves naturally and also, has a very pleasant and soothing aroma. With Lavender oil, you can combat the fragrance issues and smell great when applying this oil.
While Argan oil and essential oils do not come cheap, a few drops are all you need. That way, you might save a lot in the longer run, besides getting flawless skin. Don’t have time for this recipe? You can give our Argan Body oil a try and forget about skincare regimen and DIY recipes!
