We all know there are natural ingredients for coloring, highlighting and whatnot. Likewise, bleaching can be done using natural ingredients, bringing down the damage by leaps and bounds if any.

This is a very simple and straightforward bleaching recipe that works and you need very few ingredients for this. Yes, you can count the ingredients with just one hand. Let’s get started, shall we?

Cinnamon – 3 Tsps.
Argan Oil – 1 Tsp.
Sweet Almond Oil – 2 Tsps.
Honey – ¼ Cup
ACV – 3 Tsps.

Add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl one after the other.

Add ¼ Cup of Water and mix well.

Wait for 25 minutes and it’s good to go.

Apply on your strands from tips to near the root – don’t touch the scalp if you can help it. Cinnamon can cause itching of the scalp in more quantity and if you’re sensitive. So, stay at a safe distance form your root / scalp.

Let it sit for a good couple of hours.

Wash off with a mild shampoo or herbal hair wash powder.

Air dry your hair!

Who can Use This?

Anyone can use this – the results will vary according to your body type, hair color, hair health and other factors. Don’t lose hope; depending on your hair color it might take more than a couple of times of this treatment to start noticing a change in hair color. However, this works and works well – just be patient with your hair and give it time for the recipe to work it’s magic.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can also use fresh Lemon Juice without or along with ACV – Apple Cider Vinegar.

You can use Coconut Oil, Olive Oil or other oils if your choice in place of Sweet Almond Oil.

You can also add Essential Oils if you like.

Adjust the water quantity according to the consistency.

For added softness and shone finish off with a Rice Water rinse.

Why These Ingredients?

Cinnamon is a great way to lighten even dark hair and promote hair growth. However since we don’t touch the roots, we’re gong with the lightening benefit more.

We know about Argan Oil already and use it a lot in our recipes and HY Vitamins has a humungous list of products that use Argan Oil as the base. So this needs no introduction.

Sweet Almond Oil is one of my favorites as it is light but rich in Vitamin E and can easily penetrate roots and promote hair growth. It doesn’t weigh down hair and leaves hair shiny and soft.

Honey is a humectant and as such a good base to work with considering bleaching can be tough on your hair without right protection aids. This also strengthens your hair follicles and helps with lightening your hair naturally.

Like every other recipe, feel free to tweak the recipe to suit you needs and preferences. Keeps us posted with your results. Have you tried HY Vitamins for your hair and scalp care needs yet?
