Egg Oil is considered exotic, pricey but one of the best oils you can use for your hair or even skin. However, it isn’t available everywhere and even if you do get it, it is still pricey.
Do you know you can make your own Egg Oil? It is possible and with some patience and a backyard, you could prepare your own exotic egg oil in no time. Let’s get started shall we?

Instructions
Hard boil the eggs and let it cool down.
Peel off the shell and cut the egg to remove the yolks.
Now, add the yolks to a heavy bottomed pan and crush it – crushing it into smaller pieces makes it easier, so make sure you crush it finely.
Heat the yolk in low flame – continue heating.
The color should keep changing till it becomes a black mass and starts releasing smoke – that’s the time it will start releasing oil so don’t panic!
While heating, keep turning the brushed yolk and also pressing it down – this helps with oil oozing out.
Continue pressing down especially after the color turns darker / black.
You can notice the oil has started to ooze out at this stage.
Once you feel the oil has oozed out, remove from heat and let it cool down.
Filter using a nylon cloth or a very fine filter – you don’t want any particles in your oil.
Transfer to a sterilized jar and use as needed.
How to Use the Oil?
Massage the oil into your scalp and wait for at least three hours before washing off. You should dilute the oil prior to application with a carrier oil of your choice.
Oil Uses and Benefits
Egg Oil is used to treat acne, hair fall, premature ageing and ageing skin signs and sagging skin. It is considered as a safe alternative to use on skin directly unlike egg yolks that can be contaminated with salmonella.
It can also be used on minor cuts and wounds for accelerated healing.
It makes your hair strong, silky and smooth.
Curbs hair fall and promotes hair growth.
It curbs dandruff.
It is also used to burb arthritis pain – not a strong oil or a pain killer but the nutrients curb arthritis related pain.
Shelf Life
Use a dry spoon when removing the oil for use.
Keep it away from sunlight and in a hygienic condition to make sure the oil is good.
It lasts a year in room temperature and up to three years with refrigeration.
Remember: The oil stinks a lot – while preparing & while using. Many prefer preparing this outdoors for this very reason and the smoking. Remember to wash your hair off after use – a good smelling shampoo or herbal hair wash powder is ideal.
