DIY Argan-Avocado Leave-in Conditioner

Want a leave-in conditioner that would leave your hair silky smooth, soft and healthy?

I have used leave-in conditioners for most part and I love them as they can keep hair soft, smooth, silky and also continue to nourish hair. The reason I don’t prefer buying leave-in off shelves is that they contain a lot of ingredients that we don’t know how to pronounce and I don’t want those chemicals going anywhere near my hair or scalp, forget about leaving them in!

Yeah, it is quite difficult for me to comprehend that they expect us to buy something is natural or herbal since they draw a leaf picture and if you look at the ingredients, half of the ingredients will be chemicals, if not more!

I love to prepare a creamy conditioner that’s also light and use as my leave-in. I have come up with a simpler recipe this time, that will also leave your hair silky and lustrous like a commercial conditioner. Without much ado, let’s take a look at the recipe.

I LOVE this creamy, smooth concoction and plan to use it a lot this summer. It only requires three ingredients – coconut oil, aloe vera gel, and avocado oil – and it smells lovely.

Ingredients

Avocado Oil – 1 Tsp.
Argan Oil – 1 Tsp.
Aloe Vera Gel – 1 Tbsp.
Shea Butter – ½ Tsp.
Coconut Oil – 1 Tsp.

Instructions

Melt Shea Butter and Coconut Oil in your double boiler.

Once melted remove from heat.

Add Argan Oil, Avocado Oil and Aloe Vera Gel and mix well.

Use your hand blender to whip the ingredients to a creamy and fluffy texture at medium speed.

Done!

How to Use the Leave-in?

Just apply on your hair strands lightly and comb through to spread evenly.

Style as usual.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

I like to use Shea Butter – a dash – for the way it can leave hair smooth without really weighing it down in miniscule quantities. However, you can also use any carrier oil instead. Jojoba Oil, Almond Oil, or even Infused Oils are good options.

I like to use Coconut Cream for this recipe instead of Coconut Oil – heated up Coconut Milk till it becomes Cream. It leaves hair shiny and soft.

I have used Avocado Oil for the sheen and shine this oil can give mimicking that of a conditioner. It is also nourishing and moisturizing, needless to say, rejuvenating.

We all know about Argan Oil and it is one of the best when you want to tame hair, get rid of frizz or dryness, etc.

Aloe Vera Gel is a light and rejuvenating ingredient that’s also a great hydrating agent. It also adds a nice sheen to your hair.

Over all, the recipe is very simple and effective for conditioning your hair and getting salon worth shine and sheen. It takes a few minutes to whip this up and you’re ready to use it – I usually prepare fresh batches though you can prepare larger batches for a few weeks without issues.
