Indian Gooseberry has a permanent place in all hair care products and recipes in the Asian Countries. Now, you can prepare your very own Gooseberry-based Hair Oil at home.
You would have probably heard that Alternative Medicine recipes are complicated and need a lot of practice and learning. But we’ve added quite a few recipes that are quite simple and effective.
In that line, we’re adding another recipe today – DIY Indian Gooseberry Based Hair Oil. This recipe isn’t very difficult and you hardly need many ingredients. So, let’s get started, shall we?
Ingredients
Indian Gooseberry Powder – 150 Grams.
Water – 4 Liters.
Organic Virgin Coconut Oil – 200 Ml.
Instructions
Add ½ the quantity of Indian Gooseberry to 4 Liters Water and bring to a boil.
Let it continue boiling, till you get a concoction that ‘s reduced to 1/4th – about a liter. Filter and set aside.
Now, prepare a thick paste with the remaining Gooseberry Powder and set aside.
Add the Coconut Oil to a deep iron kadai along with Gooseberry Paste and the Concoction you prepared.
Bring the ingredients to a boil and simmer it.
Let it simmer till all the water evaporates – there shouldn’t any moisture left.
Now, let the oil cool down.
Filter using a cheesecloth and squeeze out the oil fully.
Transfer it to a sterilized bottle and use as needed.
How to Use the Oil?
You would need about 2 Tbsp. for a use, or more depending on your hair volume.
Massage your scalp with this oil for a few minutes. Work your way to the tips and let the oil sit for 25 – 45 minutes.
Wash your hair with Herbal Hair Wash Powder, or Herbal Shampoo.
Shelf Life
This lasts a year or more for me.
Use a sterilized spoon or spatula to remove the oil for your use and keep the oil jar closed – close it right after use. The more sterilized you keep it the longer it will last.
How Often Can you Use the Oil?
Use this twice a week for best results.
