DIY Hair Thinning Remedies – Part IV

We have been looking at natural remedies for Hair Thinning recently. Here’s more along the lines for you, as promised.

Yarrow

An antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent, Yarrow herb is one remedy you can rely on for treating various conditions that lead to hair loss. All you need is a drop of Yarrow Essential Oil to a spoon of carrier oil and a stimulating scalp massage to go with it.

Yarrow Ess Oil

Rosemary Essential Oil

Rosemary oil is considered as one of the best and most effective treatments for hair loss, besides other scalp ailments. All you have to do is add a couple of drops to your hair oil and massage your scalp with this mixture to get the benefits. Continued and regular use of rosemary essential oil is among the few proven methods for hair loss and alopecia areata reversal.

Coconut Oil

While Coconut Oil offers a world of good individually, here’s a recipe you can try for hair thinning. Take ¼ Cup of Coconut Oil and add 2 spoons of Lime Juice to it. Apply this mixture to your scalp and massage for a few minutes. Let it sit for 20 minutes and to an hour, before you wash off. You can do this once or twice a week.

Rosemary Herb

If you don’t want to use the essential oil, consider using the herb as a rinse. Generally, it is combined with Sage to promote hair regrowth and to reverse premature graying.

Castor Oil

Hair thinning? Curb it with Castor Oil. Take a spoon of Honey and enough Castor Oil for your scalp. Apply this to your scalp and massage for a few minutes. Wash off after 30 minutes. Do this twice a week to curb hair thinning and to promote stronger and healthier hair.

Aloe Vera

Just rub along an Aloe Vera leaf directly to your hair and scalp, or combine it with Sweet Almond Oil and give your head a nice massage. Wash off after 30 minutes. I like that Aloe Vera also doubles up as a conditioner.

Olive Oil

Do you know regular head massage with Olive Oil can curb hair thinning? Just warm up Olive Oil and massage your scalp with it at night. Wash off in the morning. This offers best results. However, if you can’t let it sit for 6 – 8 hours overnight, due to health or other concerns, do this at least 40 minutes before your hair wash.

Fenugreek Seeds

We have already seen a lot of remedies involving Fenugreek Seeds for hair or skin care. Here’s another one. Soak 2 Tbsp. of Fenugreek Seeds overnight and grind it to a paste in the morning. Massage your scalp with this for a month, to see results. While not many can do this daily, doing it at least 2 – 3 times a week, helps.

Coriander Juice

Grind together a handful of Coriander Leaves, with or without stem. Dilute the juice with a liter of water and use this as your final rinse. This is said to curb hair thinning when done once or twice a week.

Vegetable Juice

Grind together a carrot, capsicum and a few leaves of Lettuce and drink this cocktail everyday to curb hair thinning.

Another option is to drink a combination of Spinach Leaves and Alfalfa everyday.

Onion

Many have taken to using Onion Juice for their hair problems. It is said that applying a mixture of Onion Juice and Honey regularly can curb hair thinning.

You can also apply the pulp of Onion on your scalp, twice a week – for those who don’t want to use honey.

Henna

Combine the powders of Triphala, Hair Fruit and Soap Nut and apply this mixture to your scalp twice a week. Let it sit for a few minutes before you rinse off – you don’t need shampoo when you use this powder.

It is important to understand that the results can vary with every individual. Also, natural remedies work differently for everyone. The key is identifying what works for you best and following that. Also, a healthy and balanced diet with regular exercise is important for your hair health. Don’t have time for DIY Recipes? Try HY Vitamins Hair Care Products for healthy and happy hair and scalp.
